City of London Bus Tour

Year 2 went on their first class trip on a Routemaster Bus Tour of the City of London. Along the way we spotted The Gherkin, Walkie Talkie, The Shard and H.M.S. Belfast. We went across Tower Bridge and saw large boats sailing beneath us along the River Thames.

Our first stop was at St. Paul’s Cathedral where we disembarked and discovered that it is one of the most famous landmarks in the world.  We were excited to hear the bell chime 11 times because it was 11 o’clock. Did you know there are 550 steps up to the Golden Gallery which is inside the dome at the top?

We continued our journey and were excited to see Big Ben and the London Eye. It was amazing to see different world flags on the base of each capsule. We ate our lunch at the Jubilee Gardens and saw Buddhists practicing Tai Chi on the grass.  Finally we took our Routemaster for the day back to school and shared fascinating facts about the landmarks that we saw.
