Year 1 Tour of Lewisham

On the 19th September Year 1 visited Lewisham as part of their geographical theme ‘Who we are and where we live’. We had a great day exploring our local community and the services on offer. We started our tour on the 185 bus and excitedly drove through Catford, identifying many familiar landmarks. When we arrived in Lewisham we walked past many different Christian churches on route to the Hindu temple. We were amazed at the detailed sculptures and the beautiful surroundings. After a tour of the temple we went to explore the wonderful delights of the local market. We worked in groups and had the opportunity to buy lots of produce. After our long awaited lunchtime we headed to the Fire Station. At the Fire Station we were met by white watch who showed us around, let us try on the fire suits and helped us spray water from the heavy hose. We had a fabulous day and loved exploring the delights of Lewisham.
