Rathfern children wanted to show support of the vulnerable and homeless people within our community during the Festive Season by supporting the Red Box Appeal.
Children brought in an item each day that was added to the box that then symbolised an Act of Kindness leading up to Christmas. This created a ‘reverse Advent calendar’ whereby children add rather than take away. Each item brought in was recorded on the class advent calendar that was purchased to from UNICEF in support of providing lifesaving nourishment to the children suffering from acute malnutrition.

Children have the right to good quality health care – the best health care possible – to safe drinking water, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment, and information to help them stay healthy. Rich countries should help poorer countries achieve this.
