Today we went on a Geography trip to Ladywell Fields. We used a map and a compass to navigate our way around the park to key locations. Along the way we picked up leaves and stuck them on to the Gruffalo’s hungry tummy. We had to pick a variety of colours and some of us even found feathers.
‘The trip was really fun because we had to navigate around using the compass.’ – Sophia
‘I enjoyed finding good leaves to put on the Gruffalo’s tummy.’ – Jacob
‘I liked trying to count and estimate the amount of lines and circles were in the tree trunk.’ – Bea
When we got back to school we sketched a leaf of our choice from the leaf shop (a mound of leaves in piles by colour). We then had to colour match our leaves with the water colour paints to create a pattern using the colours from our Gruffalo’s tummy as inspiration.
