Launch of the New Lewisham Humanities Hub

On Thursday 31st October, three new learning hubs for Lewisham were launched at the Horniman Museum – The Humanities Hub, The Arts Hub and the Mental Health and Well-Being Hub.

We are proud to let you know that Rathfern is leading the Humanities Hub, in collaboration with Addey and Stanhope and Drumbeat schools. Due to our excellent practice and pedagogy at Rathfern, we will be supporting Lewisham schools in developing exciting and relevant curricula in the humanities, as well as offering new subject leader network opportunities.

The launch was a great success with speaker presentations from our Head teacher, Naheeda, who leads Lewisham’s  Research Hub, Dame Alison Peacock, CEO of the Chartered College of Teaching, Catherine Sharman, Director of the V& A  and Angela Scattergood, Director of Education for Lewisham.

We were wonderfully entertained by Sam Wilkinson, Winner of The Voice Kids 2019 and saw an amazing GCSE Dance performance by very talented pupils from Forest Hill School.

At Rathfern we stand together to condemn the unlawful murder of an innocent black man, George Floyd, in Minneapolis.

We stand united in our commitment to tackle and challenge racism, address inequality and call out discrimination.
