Symmetrical Sequence Building in Gymnastics

In Year 3 we are currently exploring Symmetry and Asymmetry in Gymnastics.

In todays sessions we worked in groups to create collaborative symmetrical shapes and balances on the mats, and on apparatus. After coming up with some fantastic ideas and using our lines of symmetry to ensure that our shapes were symmetrical, we linked our shapes together to form a sequence.

It was challenging moving into our next position, and staying symmetrical at the same time. We reminded each other to stretch our finger tips and point our toes, and did our best to hold our balances with good control.

Have a look at some of our learning…
