Year Two was the first lucky year group to visit to our new Forest School site – Wildcat Wilderness this year. The children had a fantastic time exploring and adventuring – crawling through woody tunnels, climbing trees, picking fruit and finding items to add to the site’s junk sculpture. As part of their geography learning the children closely observed the trees and wildlife there. They took bark rubbings and collected leaf samples from the ground, so they could start to identify the type of trees we have growing in our local environment.
Many thanks to the parents who joined us to help on our trip, especially the ones that endured the torrential rain! We all had fun despite the weather, and hope to visit the site every half term to continue our learning.
