On Wednesday 5th October we had the pleasure of not having to use a pen or pencil for the whole day. What joy! In fact we weren’t allowed to use any form of scribing instrument so no colouring pencils or paintbrushes either. The main aim of the day was for us to focus on our communications skills, so we spent the day debating, discussing, reasoning, investigating and practicing our listening and collaborative skills.
We prepared and participated in a debate during English, using arguments that we had considered appropriate for and against a particular statement. We recognised the importance of conducting the debate in a thoughtful and calm manner as well as communicating with clarity and precision so we took our time to prepare what we were going to say. We found that persuasion is rather a tricky skill!
