Year 3 Investigate REAL Animal Skulls

To kick-start our science topic on Animals including Humans, we were given the opportunity to handle real animal skulls.

We predicted the animal the skull belonged to and thought about the animals diet by looking at its teeth.

Using the pictures of the skulls and some of the questions below, why not have a go at identifying some animals skulls yourself?

Can you identify the animal this skull belongs to?

Can you examine its teeth to predict what its diet was? What did the animal eat?

What can you tell about this animal just by looking at its skull?

Is this animal a carnivore, herbivore or omnivore? How do you know?

Was this animal a prey, predator or both?
