On 10th and 14th November, both Year 6 Classes visited the British Museum and Horniman Museum to learn all about the fantastic kingdom of Ancient Benin. At the British Museum, we took part in a fact-filled workshop where we learned all about the plaques of Ancient Benin and the symbolic links to the power of the Oba (the ruler of the Kingdom). Later that week we went to the Horniman Museum where we got to handle a number of ancient relics and learned about many fascinating aspects of the lives of the people through our historical enquiry of these primary sources.
