Year 1 visit to the V & A

Year 1 visited the V and A museum. We started the day by boarding a double decker bus into London. We were all really excited and used our previous knowledge to identify key London landmarks we went past. When we arrived we went to the theatre and performance exhibition where we sketched and tried on a range of exciting costumes. We also visited the Jewellery gallery, it was beautiful and we loved looking at the different precious metals and stones. In the afternoon we were lucky enough to have a workshop about clothes in the past. Julia our teacher was fantastic, she explained about what ladies and gentlemen wore in the past and we even had the opportunity to try on some of the historical clothes. By the end of the day we were exhausted and many of us fell asleep on the journey back. We are really excited to continue learning about clothes and textiles.
