On Monday 29th October, Year 6 visited the the British Museum. The children explored the Ancient Greek galleries and examined the various different artefacts. The children looked at how the Greeks used paintings on pottery to tell stories or to show what daily life was like in Ancient Greece.
The children then attended a presentation in the British museum’s lecture theatre on Greek Myths. The children deepened their understanding on what a Greek myth is and were also shown how to recognise key mythical characters and Gods/Goddesses in Ancient Greek art. The children were able to identify heroes such a Herakles and Perseus, as well as Gods and Goddesses such as Athena and Hermes.
