On Thursday 24th January our children had the opportunity for to share their experiences, ideas and work they have been doing with the SDGs with UNICEF and guest visitor Lord Bates. The purpose of the visit was to speak to a group of pupils in a focus group about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The UK Government will be reporting on its progress towards the SDGs and are reviewing work done in schools and organisations across the UK.
They came to speak to our children to incorporate their voice into this review. It was a very important and valuable opportunity that may influence the government’s work on the SDGs in the near future and a valuable learning experience for our children.
The UK government will be submitting the Voluntary National Review to the United Nations, at a High Level Political Forum in July 2019.
