Year 1’s gymnastics topic this half-term is Points and Patches. Today we used a range of apparatus creatively to display balances on points (small body parts) and on patches (large body parts).
There were four exciting apparatus station that we rotated around in small groups. We discovered that the apparatus with large surface areas were particularly good for balancing on patches, and that the apparatus with small or narrow surface areas were better for balancing on points.
We tried to remember to extend our limbs and point our toes to ensure that our balances looked effective.
