On Thursday the 14th of March 10 KS2 children attended the Change For Life Festival. Our group was divided into different teams where they met children from other local primary schools. Teams took part in a circuit of activities which included Rugby drills, throwing target practice challenges, and agility courses.
Rathfern pupils were required to use lots of our learning attributes along the way, and the festival leaders were also looking our for children who were demonstrating any of our 6 sporting spirits – Teamwork, Self-belief, Respect, Passion, Honesty and Determination. One of our pupils was presented with an award for fantastic teamwork – What a great achievement!
We look forward to participating in some of these challenges back at school, and continuing to spread the message about the importance of a healthy lifestyle within school, but also our wider community. Something all the children agreed on at the festival, was that when you are having lots of fun you forget you are even exercising!
Have a look at what we got up to at the festival…
