Year 1’s current Gymnastics top is Wide, Narrow and Curled.
We have practiced using wide and narrow shapes to balance, travel in, and perform in their air. Children have demonstrated the contrast between wide and narrow shapes by including both in their composed sequences, using smooth transition to link them together.
At the end of our lesson’s we transfer our skills onto apparatus, and today we enjoying using the large climbing frame, the beam, the rope, and the trampoline.

Gymnastics skills take a lot of practice and perseverance to accomplish. With hard work, when the goal is achieved, it feel’s very empowering. Here is one of our Year 1 children, who was very pleased to achieve a cartwheel (wide shape) on beam after many attempts in today session.
