Rights Respecting
Rathfern Primary School has met the standard for Unicef UK’s Rights Respecting Schools Award at Gold.
We have embedded the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of our school’s planning, policies, practice and ethos.
Rathfern’s ethos and values have always focused on placing a moral purpose at the heart of the children’s learning and we will continue to develop a rich, positive learning culture across the school.
Achieving the Gold Accredited Rights Respecting School demonstrates that our children are globally aware and have developed a strong sense of awareness and understanding of rights and relationships, not just of children but of everyone in the school and wider community.
We have different groups of children, staff, governors and members from the local community who meet once a week to discuss and focus on particular issues. We call these groups Leading Citizens and Community Ambassadors.
