School Meals
Our school meals are freshly prepared on site by Chartwells, offering children a nutritious and balanced lunch each day. Families may choose to send a healthy packed lunch from home or opt for the hot meal provision available at school.
Universal Free School Meals in London
We are pleased to confirm that, under the Mayor of London’s Universal Free School Meals Programme, all primary school children in state-funded London schools will continue to receive free school meals for the 2025–2026 academic year.
This includes pupils in Reception through Year 6, regardless of household income.
To learn more about the programme, visit the Mayor of London’s Universal Free School Meals page.
This initiative ensures that every child has access to a healthy meal during the school day, supporting their learning, wellbeing, and development.
What Should a Healthy Packed Lunch Include?
If you choose to send your child to school with a packed lunch, we encourage you to provide a balanced and nutritious meal that supports their energy and focus throughout the day. A healthy packed lunch might include:
-
A source of protein – e.g. lean meats, canned fish, eggs, beans, or hummus
-
Wholegrain carbohydrates – e.g. wholemeal bread, wraps, pasta, or rice
-
Fresh fruit and vegetables – e.g. carrot sticks, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, apples, or berries
-
A dairy item – e.g. yoghurt, cheese, or a milk-based drink
-
Water or milk
Please note: The following items are not permitted on site or during school trips:
-
Sweets and chocolate bars
-
Sugary or fizzy drinks
-
Crisps and popcorn
We also ask that all packed lunches are nut-free to ensure the safety of children with allergies.
After the London Scheme Ends
Should the Mayor’s scheme come to an end after July 2026, the following charges will apply:
-
School dinners: £3.00 per day / £15.00 per week
(Prices may be subject to change from September 2026)
Payment Information
Dinner money must be paid in advance via the Arbor App. If you experience any difficulties with online payments, please contact the school office as soon as possible for support.
It is important to keep the school office informed of your child’s lunchtime arrangements. If payments are not made on time and a debt is accrued, your child’s access to school meals may be withdrawn.
If you wish to change your child’s meal type to Packed Lunch, please complete and email the Change of Meal Option Form to the school office at least one week before the change is due to take effect.
Applying for Free School Meals
While all primary pupils currently receive free school meals under the Mayor of London’s scheme, families who meet the eligibility criteria are still encouraged to apply for Free School Meals (FSM). This ensures your child continues to receive support if the scheme ends and may also unlock additional funding for the school through the Pupil Premium.
